新婚快乐!

I attended two weddings last weekend. Saturday evening – Joy got married. Joy is my student, she invited few classmates and two teachers, one of which didn’t show up. His loss. It was an honour to drink for newly-weds’ happiness!
Sunday evening – Frank got married. Another student… His wedding was huge! Unfortunately I didn’t know anybody except him, his wife and one ex-colleague, who wasn’t very talkative. I wasn’t either.
Chinese weddings are so different than those in Poland. I have to admit that I don’t really enjoy the Chinese ones. They resemble a TV-show – there is a host (usually hired), there are games, there is music, there are special sound effects. All that lacks spontaneity and fun. But maybe it’s only my feeling – Chinese guests seemed to like all that craziness.

skiing

First skating and then skiing! Wow, do I miss winter? Not at all, I’m just trying new things. That was my first time to go skiing – of course it must have been done indoors, because the outside temperatures are still around 30 degrees.
Lots of fun! Luckily I haven’t broken anything…
That was my school’s gift for Teacher’s Day, which in China is celebrated on September 10th.

Linkin Park is back! One of the most popular rock bands of 2000s has already finished recording their fourth album called "A Thousand Suns" – with the lead single "The Catalyst"!
I like it, although I’m not sure for how long. Let’s enjoy it now!

inception

Yesterday was a skating day. Skating in summer? My first time! I haven’t gone skating since I was a primary school student, however I was almost sure I still could do it. Well, I fell down several times but generally I could skate with only a little hesitation. Today my ankles hurt, my elbow is scratched – it doesn’t matter! I have the sense of achievement!
After skating I went to the cinema and watched "Inception". OK. I have to think it over. Sometimes movies are too complicated for my simple mind, haha. "Inception" is about dreaming and trying to manipulate it. Is it possible to enter somebody else’s dream? Is it possible to change somebody else’s thoughts? Is it possible to dream and be aware of that? The film made me think about my dreams. I have them, even quite often and I remember many of them. Last night I was a bit afraid to fall asleep… but this morning I woke up without any awareness of dreaming.
Perhaps I should watch "Inception" again.

The summer is over, it’s cooler now, although still as warm as in Poland in July. Nice, isn’t it?
Listening to Klaxons – a post-punk band from the UK. I think they are very fresh, very exciting and modern! Great tune!
