Time flies. Another month has almost passed by. Some news from me? Yeah, there are some…
Hancy is a wonderful girl. She’s my meimei (younger sister), it’s a great talk with her – always!
Aaron is a good friend. Also a teacher. I’ve already written that sometimes we feel that somebody is on the same wavelenght like us… Aaron is just this kind of man.
Oliver is a very helpful boy. He helped me to buy a laptop! Yeah, yeah – I have a laptop! Chinese people call it notebook. Well, OK, it can be a notebook.
Sam and Nora – Oliver’s friends – now also mine. They helped me to get a discount for the computer. Oh, without them I would pay much more.
Calvin… I wonder how to describe my feelings. Difficult and mixed. Nobody said it was easy… – that’s "The Scientist" by Coldplay, beautiful piece of music.
Students, my great source of joy and satisfaction. Thank you so much.

I’m experiencing so many emotions. Wow, China is great. It’s still amazing. … friends, meetings, surprises!

I hear her voice calling my name, the sound is deep in the dark. I hear her voice and start to run into the trees.
Suddenly I stop but I know it’s too late. I’m lost in a forest all alone. The girl was never there, it’s always the same. I’m running towards nothing again and again and again.

Yesterday was quite nice day. Although still raining from time to time (I forgot an umbrella!) but thanks to the people I wasn’t sad. I was at school; not very busy – and I taught my good students, it’s possible that we will become friends. Hancy: a cute girl from Xiaoshan who told me I was her older brother (haha! so I have a little sister!). Teaching Hancy is a pure pleasure. I have no difficulties in communicating with her. And Albert: 23-year-old boy, he’s my neighbour, lives nearby! Sometimes we feel that new people just fit our personalities…

After that I also had a lesson for a group in Web (English corner). I presented the topic about sleep and sleepless. Well, in the beginning I felt that I couldn’t explain it quite clearly. The pases of sleep, REM… Maybe it was too complicated, I didn’t know too many details. Everything changed when we started to talk about our dreams and how we interpret them. Wonderful!

In the evening I met Joyce, Lily and Oliver. We had delicious dinner in a restaurant. Laughing, trying to speak Chinese, eating soup with chopstick from the big dish… Meeting people is exciting. Meeting friends is perfect. Unfortunately I didn’t see Calvin, my soulmate. His Mum is in hospital, Calvin visits her very often. I hope everything will be alright with her. I’d like to give her my positive vibes.

It’s raining tonight. It got cooler and easier to breathe. I’m not in the best mood. Sometimes I’m in lower mood without a reason. Or without a special reason. Or there’s a reason which is hidden deeply behind my smile. Hidden even for me.

I’m still listening to Jason Mraz. Oh, look at his photo – he’s as thin as me!! Generally we like people similar to us… Tonight I like the song "Plane" the most. It’s Jason’s saddest song. "Mr. A-Z" has been the best music album of the 2006 for me so far.

Ningbo

I was in Ningbo on Thursday. It was my second business trip, remember the first? – it was Qingdao in Shandong Province. This time I didn’t have to take plane because Ningbo is in the same province as Hangzhou – Zhejiang. It’s a smaller city than Hangzhou but also quite prosperous.

I went there with Oliver who played the role of my P.A. (personal assistant). Haha, for the first time I was the boss!! Good feeling! Perhaps it will be my future. Everything can happen, the positive attitude and strong faith can make miracles.

The visit in the company in Ningbo was short, just a couple of hours. After lunch we stayed in the city center. Nice, but it was too hot… I felt sleepy and tired.

And today I had English corner about immigration. It was good, I liked it. And some of my students (girls…) told me they came especially to see me. Oh my God.  Tomorrow they will also come. Haha, it is also good feeling but I know I can’t disappoint them. I have to do my best to make my classes interesting. As interesting as possible. My students deserve it.

 

I’m listening to Jason Mraz. He’s 29-year old American. He’s not very popular but it doesn’t matter for me. I downloaded his last album "Mr. A-Z". Oh, he has so beautiful songs! The most touching is "Life Is Wonderful"; it’s the song which was written especially for me – I can feel it, it’s perfect. His music is gentle and soft but it’s not pop. And the lyrics of his songs are wise and… understandable! "Song For A Friend" – this is a great gift from Jason for all senstive souls! I have all songs from "Mr. A-Z" in my MP3-player; oh, it’s so relaxing to hear them when I go by bus or walk in the streets! I’m almost flying.

TV

Today morning I’m free. I decided to see Wind, my friend from the park. She told me I can bring my clothes – she will wash them in her washing machine. That’s so kind of her!

I told her I started to remember more words and expressions in Chinese! Wow, I feel so excited when I think I could communicate with people in Chinese. And I believe I can do it.

We were talking for a longer while when suddenly someone came to us. It was a nice girl from local TV. And there was also a guy with the video camera… A girl asked me if I can give her an interview.  Oh my God. I agreed! We were talking about summer in Hangzhou… And tonight I’ll be in the news in HTV-2!! I even didn’t notice that the camera-man did his job!

Incredible. Chris in the news. In China everything is possible.

1 year

It’s been already one year since my master exam. It was July 2nd, 2005. So many things have happened starting from that day. I started to work in one Polish company, then I decided to quit, I started to dream of China, I found another job… finally I came to Hangzhou. I can feel that my life is not boring. For my fellows it is even unusual. I’ve always been quite strange, hehe. Is it called independence?

It is still hot here. The temperatures easily exceed 35 degrees, yesterday we had 38. The best solution is to stay inside – with the air conditioner. When I see that the city-bus is without air conditioner, I don’t take it. I rather take another one, even if it goes longer way. To feel comfortable – this is important thing.
