天啊. Again. I should review vocabulary about pain. Yes, I got it again.

背痛 – backache
腰酸背痛 – have a pain in the back, have a backache

我上背部疼痛, 因此不得不休息了一段日子.

疼 – sore, have a pain

游泳

I caught a cold last week. Perhaps because of swimming in the rain on Thursday evening? By the way, it’s a wonderful feeling! Or maybe because of the air-conditioner, which was on for the whole night. On Friday I felt I could faint, on Saturday I was still weak – with runny nose, sore throat and fever. Now I’m much better; I even went swimming again yesterday. The water was so warm, that I didn’t feel any cold, even when I didn’t swim, just staying in the pool and enjoying the moment.

– 热死了, 我们去游泳吧.
– 我没在海里游过, 有点儿害怕.
– 放心, 有我呢, 还有救生员, 你不会有危险的.
– 海里不是有鲨鱼吗? 不是有很多人都在游泳时被鲨鱼咬到吗?
– 你电影看得太多了吧, 放心吧, 没事儿的.
– 那好吧, 我去拿救生圈. 你要保证我没事.
– 我保证. 快去拿吧.

放心 – take something easy, trust somebody

救生员 – lifeguard

鲨鱼 – shark

咬 – bite

救生圈 – lifebuoy

rat

I dream very often, but only sometimes I remember my dreams.
Last night I also dreamt, actually it was in the early morning. In my dream I was going back home together with my brothers. Funny, actually we were going back from Jay Chou’s concert! The concert wasn’t very spectacular, but I was still satisfied, because we sat in a front row. Anyway, the concert finished and we had to go back. Why didn’t we take a bus or a taxi? No idea. We walked and I knew it would take a long time, because it wasn’t the first time for us to do it. We walked, passed a river, passed a forest and it was still far. Finally we entered some tourist community (I remember there was a hotel); it was a late summer evening, people were hanging out, it was a very relaxing atmosphere. I told my brothers to move faster because it was getting really late… Suddenly I saw a huge rat climbing down the wall of the hotel. Ugh! Disgusting! It was really big and wasn’t afraid of anything. And then I spotted a cat; it was only a bit bigger than that rat. I remember I thought: "No, the rat is too big. The cat won’t do anything!" And then everything happened so fast! The cat attacked the rat from the back – I could hear a horrible squeak. The cat attacked again, this time from the front; the rat’s head was already bleeding; it couldn’t escape, because although the cat wasn’t much bigger, it was holding the rat very tightly.
At that time I didn’t want to look longer. I turned my head and… woke up.
I’m sure this dream means something. And I’m afraid it isn’t anything good.

concert

It’s been already a week since I attended Jay Chou’s concert in Shanghai. It is still on my mind! I went there with my colleague, Jennifer, who is also a big fan of Jay’s. It rained heavily when we got there, it drizzled when we waited at the stadium, it stopped when Jay appeared on the stage. Unbelievable! Memorable! Fantastic Jay! Wonderful concert!
It lasted 3 hours, during which Jay played, sang and danced; and the audience went crazy. Our seats were in 27th row – too far to catch Jay’s attention, but close enough to enjoy the show.
The last song was "七里香" ("Qi Li Xiang") – I was so happy, because it was the first song I knew from him… almost 4 years ago! Since then I’ve become a big enthusiast of his talent.
"烟花易冷" ("Yanhua Yi Leng") was the most touching moment of the show. "双截棍" ("Shuang Jiegun") was the craziest one. And many, many other songs… He didn’t play my favourite ones, for example "霍元甲" ("Huo Yuan Jia"), "止战之殇" ("Zhi Zhan Zhi Shang"), "说好的幸福呢" ("Shuo Hao De Xingfu Ne") – although the latter one was performed by his guests, 浪花兄弟 (The Drifters) – but it doesn’t matter. It was a great evening! Thank you, Jay!
