prepared

Everything’s prepared! I’m packed and I’m ready to go. Tomorrow in the afternoon I’m going to Warsaw where I’m spending the last night in Poland. Then on Friday morning I’m catching the plane.. first to London, then to Shanghai. I’ll be there on Saturday morning. Wow, what a trip!

My mum took a couple of days off, she’s so nervous. I am not… and that’s very strange to me. I thought I will not be able to sleep or think properly.. but I am very OK! Excited and very positive about the future.

Today was the last day of work. In the morning we were only chatting with my (and also Mirela’s) Chinese friends. They are Jeremy and Kai – two students from Ji’an. Talking to them is so relaxing, they are very funny. And they love talking to Mirela.  Hope I can meet them some beautiful day. Then I chatted with Joyce. So sweet. She said she’s waiting for me… Chinese people are very friendly. Amazingly friendly! I will love China for sure!

Meetings, meetings… Yesterday my best pal Sylwek from university visited me for the last time before my trip. Wow, I felt a bit sad that we will not see each other for a longer time… Then I went to Adrian and Asia – I bought some beers and cigarettes. I was so smoked … We shot a lot of photos but I don’t know yet if I want to show them here!  They gave me a DVD with a concert of U2! Yeah! I couldn’t go for their concert in Poland but at least I can see them playing in their homeland, Ireland…

Oh, it’s time to say goodbye to everybody in Poland. Tomorrow is my last day at work, my friend Mirela will take my place in this company. I’m sure she will be good in this. And I will help her (and my boss) if needed. Oh… I’m really going.

dollars

I’m preparing… Today I planned to buy some dollars – no way! not in my hometown! In a bank they told me that they don’t have requested amount. Then I decided to go to Bydgoszcz – city with 360 000 inhabitants – and guess what: the same situation!! Well, I bought what they offered but it seems to me that it’s too little. So I will collect those poor rests of available dollars… Maybe tomorrow will be more successful? God, we have a market economy and such problems shouldn’t occur!

Poland is a specific country.  And nothing should amaze me.  I still keep forgetting about this fact. And I am still being amazed.

frankly speaking

I’m so cold today. It’s already half of March and we are still freezing! How long more? Today in the morning it was -7 degrees… while usually at this time of year it was nice beginning of spring. I’m really cold although I wear many warm clothes. It’s possible I got cold on Saturday in Toruń. Weather like today makes me feel sleepy. It’s windy, the snow is still on the ground… and no hopes for higher temperatures! I’ve heard in the news that this year’s spring is delayed for over a month! Incredible – dissapointing – depressing – annoying! Tell you the truth – I hate winter. It’s the worst time of year.. and the fact that it lasts so long, is not very comfortable.

Starting today I’m having only 8 days of work. Although frankly speaking I wouldn’t call it "work" because I’ve already done almost everything. Now I’m just trying to seem that I’m working very hard. It’s so unlike my previus job in Toruń where there was so much to do that I didn’t know how to manage. And the best thing is… that I’m getting more money now then before.  And I even have time to write something here!

Life is full of surprises, isn’t it? And that’s why it’s so exciting! At least in my case… that’s for sure.

pleasant

It was so pleasant day! I went to Toruń – Milena (my good friend from university) came there especially for me … to say goodbye before my trip. Wow, so nice of her. We went to the Old Town (by the way: ground zero because of the bird flu!), then we had a tea… and there was a big hug when saying goodbye. She promised to save some money and visit me in China. I keep your word, Milena!

Then I came back to Solec and visited my grandfather. He asked when I finally get rid of my China dreams…  Oh, I will never give it up! And he knows it very well. I’m blood of his blood and flesh of his flesh.

Then I had an appointment in the most famous pizzeria in Solec – at Tomi’s. At the beginning no-one came and that was quite disappointing. But later… Ania, Rafał and Wojtek came… and they gave me a special gift: a T-shirt with a map of my hometown painted. And with the initials of all friends..!! I was so touched. Guys, I will take this T-shirt to China and wear it with proud. Thank you so much. That’s very lovely.

Today is the first day that I really felt I’m going. It”s started to come to my mind… In 2 weeks time I’ll be in China. Incredible feeling.

Women’s Day

Women’s Day today – I bought sweet chocolates to the one and only woman in my home: for my Mum. What a woman! My Dad is lucky man to have such a girl!

I hope this day was the sweet one for all girls and women… They are like flowers in the meadow. Much pleasure. Pleasure for an eye and for a soul.
