that’s really something

I received a nice e-mail from my Finnish friend-family. I will keep it in my mailbox (and in my memory) and if needed – it will cheer me up… if the bad mood happens to occur. It’s so good to have friends all over the world who say "It was really pity that You could not stay longer" or "China, that’s really something. I wish you everything good, lot new experiences and friends there"… I’m sure these wishes will come true!
Someday I will come back to Finland, to Rovaniemi. Now I think I should have stayed there longer. Yes, I was happy when leaving for Christmas but if I had a chance I would go there again. Staying there was one of the greatest periods in my life.
Travels shape every traveller… and each person he meets.
Regards
Chris

eternal sunshine

It’s carnival’s last Saturday. I had plans to go with my friend Ania to dance in a disco. I love dancing, remember? Dancing generates only positive emotions and makes me feel so great.
Unfortunately Ania called me and said she’s fallen in a bathroom and her knee is aching… I wouldn’t go alone, that’s why I invited her to my home. We had a very nice movie-evening. We’ve watched "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet). Quite melancholic movie but I liked it. It was about memories… The guy discovers that after split with his girlfriend she decided to erase all the memories connected with him. He wants to do the same but in the operation progress he realizes that erasing the memories he will lose the best moments of his life… but he can’t stop this operation.
Our memories are the greatest treasure we can get from life. Not money, not material things, not everyday’s reality… but they’re memories which make us the humans. Maybe that is why I’m writing it all down here – not to lose it when I finally grow old. I’ll do everything what’s possible to keep it all in mind. I’d like everybody to make their lives memorable and deep.
And one funny thing about this movie: finally Jim Carrey acted like a normal man, not like a weirdo… I like him more now after "Eternal Sunshine…" (and after "Truman Show") than  those stupid characters from the past.

back home

I’m back home. Warsaw is so ugly and depressing at this time of year! Snow is melting during the day, then it’s freezing again at night, then it’s raining, then snowing again. It’s shit. And it’s so dirty in the streets. I prefered to stay at my friend’s than go somewhere. Warsaw doesn’t impress me much. Not in February!
I got a visa! I’ve been to embassy… and so many people apply for a visa!! Wow, that was a great surprise.
My certificate in English has finally arrived!
That means that I can go. I am prepared so I can start organizing the farewell-parties for friends and family! Oh, I’m gonna miss them but as Joyce said "the beautiful dawn is closer and closer".

Warsaw

Today I’m going to Warsaw. I don’t know how many days I will be there… I guess 3 or 4… Although sometimes I think that all this doesn’t make any sense, I know that "a la la la la – life is wonderful".

And that "boys don’t cry". See you. Anyway, I expected to be in a better mood than I am now.

Boys don’t cry… do they???

famous

Today I feel like a famous person. My friend told someone at her work that I’m going to China… and this guy called me and said that he wants to go with me.  Wow… is going to China so influencing? At my work the accountant sighed: "And so you’re going…" How did she know that? Is it so unusual that I’m going abroad? Is it about me or is it about going abroad? Anyway, it’s quite fine feeling that people pay attention to me.  On the other hand it is some kind of pressure because I live in a very small town and I’m exposed by this trip. Those who live in small towns, know how it feels. Famous person… I wonder how it’s gonna end.

sun

Next week I’m going to Warsaw for a couple of days. I have to go to Chinese embassy and apply for a visa. Good that I have a friend in Warsaw who has offered me a night at her place. This will be the last part of my great preparations… an indispensable minimum which has to be fulfilled to go there. Hope there will be no problems.
Wow, I can see the sun today! It’s so unusual because there were days with clouds only.. Sad and depressing. With sun everything is better and positive. Let’s all keep the good mood!

… the bird flu approaches Poland. Today the H5N1-virus has been found in Germany, and the dead swans were found in Poland. Oooh. Should we be afraid…?

sorry

kiss

I found something interesting in today’s world news. In Phillippines thousands of couples got Valentine’s Day celebrations locking lips at midnight Saturday in what organizers dubbed "Lovapalooza 2”. More than 5300 couples kissed for at least 10 seconds in Manila for an event known as “Lovapalooza”, breaking Chile’s record of 4445 couples in the Guinness World Records book. This year’s event was aimed at “a million kisses, a million heartbeats, and probably a million people falling in love for the second time around”. The kissing festival was held simultaneously in at least four cities nationwide. Despite the large crowds, the figures appeared to be well below the target. “We’re not beating any record this time, we’re building a tradition only”, said the organizers. “A lot of people have been wanting to go and relive the whole thing”. That’s so sweet and positive tradition! I also want to take part in it…
